Details & FAQs
We're going for classic English summer wedding vibes - so think suits and dresses.
We plan to hold the ceremony and drinks reception outdoors (unless the weather has other ideas!) and then move inside the house for dinner and dancing.
Pynes House is easily accessible by both car and train. Please see the "Travel & Accommodation" page for more details.
Yes! From "I do" to the last dance, everything will take place at Pynes House.
We'd love you to arrive 1pm to grab a welcome drink and take your seat.
The ceremony starts promptly at 1.30pm, and the access drive to the venue will be closed off shortly before then - so please don't be late!
There's on-site parking available. Look out for signs as you come up the driveway. You're welcome to leave your car overnight, but it must be collected by 11am the following morning.
Please arrange your carriages for midnight. The venue strongly recommends you book a taxi ahead of time - details are on the "Travel & Accommodation" page.
During the ceremony our professional photographers will be on hand, so please keep phones and cameras away and enjoy the moment!
But after that - absolutely! We can't wait to see your photos - so please share them on the link which will appear here soon.
We love food, and there will be lots of it!
There will be canapés during the drinks reception from 2pm, a three-course summer feast at 5pm, and some late-night snacks around 10pm. And (of course) there will be cake AND cheese.
We'll be providing bubbly and Pimm's during the reception, wine with dinner, and some cocktails while the afterparty gets set up. After that, the Pynes bar will be open for whatever tipple takes your fancy!
Note that the bar takes card payments only.
We've booked a fantastic band and would love you to join us on the dance floor. All styles and (lack of) abilities welcome.
The venue is just ten minutes taxi ride outside the city of Exeter, which has lots of accommodation options including well-known chain hotels.
For your convenience, we have secured reservations and discounts at Hotel du Vin, Hotel Indigo, and Queen’s Court Hotel. For booking codes, check out the "Travel & Accommodation" page.
Unfortunately no, unless specified on your invitation, as the venue can only accommodate a certain number of guests.
We've decided to have an adults-only wedding so we can celebrate with all our friends and family without bedtime worries.
Babes in arms (born this summer) are welcome to join us after the ceremony. There is a lovely sitting room inside the house where a parent can look after the baby during the ceremony, and throughout the evening if a quiet space is needed.
Your presence is the best present. It's a cliché, but we really mean it!
But if you'd still like to give us a little something, contributions towards our honeymoon or one of the gift registry items will be very much appreciated.
